It’s What I Do

IMG_7244The saying goes, “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life” and it has been true in my case for the last twenty years. I have been lucky enough to work in the art and craft materials industry which has gone through so many changes over the years. My involvement in developing creative products has had a few hits and some misses but most of all it has been a lot of fun.

Most of my “work” this week was spent concentrating on folding all kinds of colorful and whimsical models for an origami kit. If all goes well, it will be available at a art and craft stores next year. I love the the process of developing an idea and seeing it turn into something real on the shelves. I love what I do!

  1. Oh My, this is lovely. A few years ago you sent me an origami bird. It’s is absolutely beautiful, and one of my favorite pieces of art. I don’t think I ever thanked you for it. My life was a poop-storm at that time, but that’s no excuse. Thank you. Thank you for the beautiful origami bird. Thank you for the lovely art inspiration of your blog. Thank you for the personal inspiration. It brings me joy.

  2. Beautiful! Wish you were teaching at AU this year, or least having a table at the shopping extravaganza! I wasn’t able to take your class with the stencils last year and was hoping to take it this year. Hope all is well – love your little sketchbook!

    • Thank you so much Marlene. I am sorry I am missing AU this year. Maybe next year if I can put together some awesome proposals. πŸ™‚ I am teaching at the Sedona Art Center this fall, so hopefully you can come to one of my classes there.
