Last night a group of people got together and folded origami cranes and other things. I found myself folding a complex turtle late into the evening long after the group went home.
It was a challenge trying to interpret the diagram. Most of the steps were hard to follow even for this experienced folder. I found it interesting to work with the paper and fold each step not knowing what the next step was.
As I proceeded deeper into the folding steps, I still couldn’t visualize the final object. I continued to fold, believing that it would turn out all right in the end. If it didn’t turn out would still value the experience.
I felt peace and the pleasant passing of time as I focused on each line and direction to fold. In life and in origami it’s all about the journey but it’s wonderful to stop and enjoy the steps along the way.
