A Thousand Cranes

Today, the friendly mailman delivered a box. It was fairly big, so I anticipated the weight by bending my knees before picking it up and to my surprise, it was very light, in fact so light, I nearly tossed it in the air with my arms as I picked it up off the front porch. I opened the box and could see the beautiful sheet of glittery rayon paper. When I lifted the sheet, a hundred carefully folded, colorful paper cranes were revealed. Inside the package was a gold toned sheet of paper folded in half with a message that read, “One thousand cranes is good luck. One hundred cranes from us is one hundred times that. For good luck and good health.

-Your friends”

I am amazed at how many people have come forth with their love and support. I am truly grateful.
