Origami Mobile

E-mail Print PDF

Fish Mobile by Karen ElaineYesterday I made this mobile out of Nature Series Sea Life origami paper from Yasutomo. The fish were a perfect subject for the mobile and I can now watch them float around the room.

Mobiles are fairly easy and inexpensive to make. All you need is the paper, 20 gauge wire, wire cutters, monofilament line, white glue and spray sealer for the paper. Building the mobile starts from the bottom up and you balance the models hanging on the wires. There are many resources on how to build a mobile here on the web. This is my first try and I love the results!

Mizuhiki Christmas Tree Card

E-mail Print PDF

This project reminds me of how much fun I had being a guest on the Carol Duvall Show on HGTV. I made this fun card on one of the episodes and it was brought to my attention that no longer posts the instructions even though they feature the project on their site. If you would like the instructions please contact me through this site and I will be happy to email them to you.

Mixed Metal Treasure Box

E-mail Print PDF

What I like about this project from Origami Card Craft is the introduction of metal! I used metal tape purchased at a hardware store and embossed the numbers with a Cuttlebug then aged it with black acrylic paint. Easy!

The box and pages are from the 7Gypsies line of 6" paper pads. The box was lightly painted with silver acrylic paint from Holbein.
